Second, you need seed. You will need to contact Barney Roman , he’s unlocked at level 15 and is only available in the day time.
There are 2 kinds of seed available: outdoor and indoor.

Outdoor [ править ]

To grow outdoors, you’ll need to find good spot to plant. The soil needs to be good and the plant will need direct sunlight, this can be checked by looking at the plants health.
Most important, your spot should be isolated. If a police patrol see or smell your plant, they will take it away. You’ll need to water your plants every 12 hours.

The Sims 4: How to Plant Seeds

Want to know how to plant seeds in Sims 4? Well, you’re in the right place.

One of the more popular skills in Sims 4 is gardening. Sims can add a crop of their favourite fruit and vegetables for their own use, with some Sims selling them for profit and getting a pretty buck.

For some Sims, gardening will be a way of growing food for themselves but for others it can just be a hobby to pass by those long, Sim days.

Gardening within the game can take up a lot of the Sims time, with some players spending a lot of their Sims in-game time gardening. For some Sims, it can serve as their main job, if they’re doing enough to earn a pretty penny from it.

To begin with, Sims can only grow their own fruit and vegetables for their own private use but the more seeds you sow, the high skill set for gardening you can achieve.

If you are a complete gardening novice and don’t even know how to get yourself started in the gardening world of Sims 4, here’s our quick how-to plant seeds guide, explaining step-by-step on how to get started and let your green-fingers flourish.

How to plant seeds in Sims 4?

First, you need to purchase a gardener pot or a planter box. Pick wisely. Depending on how much to want to grow will depend on what you grow them in.

Gardening pots will hold just one plant, but a planter box can hold either four plants or one tree. If you wish to have your plant inside, you can only use gardening pots.

To purchase a pot or box, head to “Build Mode”. From there click Objects by Function – Hobbies & Skills – Miscellaneous and pick which of the two you wish.

The next task is buying the seeds to plant. That’s done in a very similar way to buying the pots and planter boxes. Enter “Build Mode” again and Click Outdoors – Outdoor Activities, and then choose the seeds you wish to purchase.

Starter seed packs can be quite expensive so make sure you have the funds available. They will then be delivered to your personal inventory, which is situated on the bottom right of the screen.

The final stage is to plant the seeds. Click on the packet of seeds in the inventory and select Open Seed Packet. This will then divide the pack up in the inventory.

From there, drag the seeds you wish to plant to the area you wish for them to grow from. Then, click plant and congratulations, you’re now the owner of your brand-new crops.

How to care for the plants afterwards?

Much sure the seeds are watered after being planted to keep them fresh. It is best to water the plants every day and keep a check to see if any weeds have grown every other day.

If you become a regular gardener, once you get to Gardening Level 7, an option called “Tend Garden” will be available, meaning you don’t have to water and de-weed our crops separately.

Also, keep an eye out for bugs that can destroy your plants. To combat the bugs, click the option “Spray for Bug” when clicking on the plant they are infesting.

Although most people don’t like the rain, that will help you out. If your Sim is having a busy day and you don’t feel as if they will have the time to tend to the growing plants, then the rain would be a blessing.

If it rains, all outdoor plants are automatically watered, leaving one less thing for your Sim to do.

The plants will indicate they are ready to be picked, it will spark, indicating that it’s finished its growing cycle.

If you have sowed plants and flowers, you can leave them to decorate your garden or house if planted inside. Just make sure they’re getting the regular care they need.

You can also use fruit and vegetables you have grown to plant new crops, starting off what could be a never-ending cycle of gardening fun.

Sell plants for profit

If you’re just planting the seeds for the fun of gardening in Sims 4, then why not think about turning your crops into additional profit.

Once you’ve harvested your crops, they will go to your Sim’s inventory. From there, drag them to the sale box and make your money, it’s as simple as that.

Once your Sim has become a master gardener and achieved Gardening Level 8, they can harvest and sell all their produce and plants at once, saving time and gaining that profit as quick as possible.
