JAM Session: Dig in the Dirt – Soil Science
With Spring underway in March, you’ve surely noticed that things are looking a little more green outside. You are familiar with the main ingredients that plants need to grow, and soil is one of them. Did you ever wonder what it is about soil that helps a plant grow? Do you think you could take any old clump of dirt, put it into a pot or your garden, add any seed you find and watch it sprout? It turns out that one clump of dirt can be very different from another. Some soils are said to be “acidic”, and there is a way to test this. It is important to know which soils to use for planting certain things since not all can survive in the same type of soil.
Social & Jam Session is Friday Night; Seed Swappers Wanted; & More SFA Conference Tidbits
How many flavors of kombucha can one store possibly sell? Will Bob Petry and his double bass make an appearance? Can Theresa Keaveny sing?
